Marlehn Thieme, Member of the Council of the Evangelical Church in Germany (EKD) and Director of Deutsche Bank AG, studied law and Social Sciences. In February 2012 she was elected Chair of the German Council for Sustainable Development.In 1986 she began her professional career at Deutsche Bank AG: After a traineeship in Remscheid, Wuppertal and Milan she worked in the central personnel department in Frankfurt. In 2001 she was Managing Director of Alfred Herrhausen Foundation "Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe". She was responsible for Private Banking, Private Wealth Management, and by 2005 for Corporate Social Responsibility. Her volunteer work includes memberships in the Council of the Evangelical Church in Germany, ZDF Television Council and the Board of Social Service Agency of the EKD. Since 2004 Marlehn Thieme is member of the German Council for Sustainable Development and was Vice-Chair from July 2010 to February 2012.
