David Gould is Value Chain Facilitator for the International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements (IFOAM).He has almost 20 years of experience in sustainable development, from raw material to final product, and is and expert in regulatory frameworks and stakeholder engagement. David has trained and advised producers, inspectors, and government officials worldwide, and has performed thousands of inspections, audits, and risk assessments. In addition to the organic sector, he has consulted to numerous sustainability initiatives including Fairtrade, the MSC, Social Accountability International, and many others, contributing to high-level strategic planning, operational effectiveness, and program design. He holds a degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Life Sciences, and has a thirst for experiencing and understanding cultural, spiritual, and ecological dynamics. David and his family live in Portland, Oregon, USA, on their permaculture farm on an island in the Columbia River.
